Camps for future makers
Gamified camps for game, app, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) project creation
Master coding, build stunning apps and games, tackle real-life problems, and publish on app stores.
The School of Extended Education at Bow Valley College is proud to collaborate with RoboGarden to offer virtual summer camps for children aged 10-14. Each virtual camp is a week long with 10 hours of engagement. Each camp provides hands-on experience and is:
- - Game-based, encouraging experimentation and strengthening skills through game elements
- - Case-based, helping kids understand coding concepts based on real-world challenges
- - Practice-based, with frequent opportunity for kids to apply what they learn and validate their skills

Game Development 1
Participants will learn the logic of software programs and develop an algorithm to execute functionality, build their own game, and share it with friends. This camp will be a great fit if your child:
- Loves video games
- Wants to learn more about blockly coding
- Is interested in mastering the basics of sequential programming

Game Development 2
Participants develop their own games. Young learners will also control the console of the game and master the skill of event programming. They will be able to change the environment of the game and edit some graphics, and eventually publish the game to the store.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) 1
Camp participants are introduced to blockly coding through RoboGarden’s game-based platform, where they will mee their new friend Robo and help him complete different journeys, adventures, and missions. With RoboGarden Game Builder, they will learn to create their own games to share with friends. By the end of the week, your child will be able to recognize the applications of AI and build games that have smart features. This camp is a great fit if your child:

Artificial Intelligence (AI) 2
Participants learn about Python programming language to use it in building advanced AI applications. This is made easy by the RoboGarden game-based platform. Young learners will also be introduced to the ethics of using machine learning to be aware of the challenges in the new era of data and smart machines.

App Development 1
This camp is for children who want to elevate their coding skills through building applications. Participants will learner to build an app using HTML, CSS, and JavaSript. They will also use RoboGarden App Builder to build their own apps and share them with their friends and family. This camp will be a great fit if your child:

App Development 2
Participants learn how to build advanced applications by using JavaScript advanced topics that include loops, arrays, conditions, and random variables. By the end of the week, participants will be able to publish their applications to Google and App stores, learn how to deal with the reviews they receive, and even publish updates according to these reviews.
